I share my story to empower others and help build resilience.

I like to think of myself as a survivor. A survivor of breast cancer, financial ruin and a suicide attempt yet through it all have managed to maintain an attitude of gratitude. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29 and told that I had 6 months to live, something inside of me ignited. I had nothing to lose. So when my medical aid denied me access to treatment, I took them head on and won.
This spurred me to quit my corporate job and start an NGO focused on fighting for access to cancer treatment and improving national public access. PinkLink and Campaigning for Cancer helped many patients receive treatment that was previously denied and we were sponsored by the Livestrong Foundation and American Cancer Society with a call centre that saw us manage many cases. I partnered with Werksman’s Attorneys and we offered this all pro-bono.
Unfortunately fighting took its toll and my purpose now is to help people heal and expand during their journey with cancer.
I share my story to empower others and help build resilience. Now, together, my husband and I are going assist couples going through cancer to navigate the often seemingly insurmountable journey together with SoulSync Retreats. Over the years we have developed a set of skills and tools that have allowed us to deal with the ever challenges that cancer brings and we are looking forward to sharing them with others. In addition, we have devised a course that deals with Post COVID PTSD and offers skills to build resilience in this uncertainty that we all find ourselves in. With mental health issues at an all-time high, there is a huge need to offer support and guidance as well as upliftment to those who need it.
As a speaker I have spoken countless high profile events. I am registered with the most prestigious speaking agency in South Africa. I have been the keynote speaker at events such as M-Net Breast Cancer Luncheon with 1500 people, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi-Aventis, HP South Africa to name a few.
