Wildlife Warrior, Adventurer & Keynote Speaker
Keynote
Born and raised in the Eastern Cape South Africa, Sharon is a wife, mother, wildlife warrior, conservationist, ultra-endurance athlete, adventurer, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and storyteller obsessed with beautiful places, wild spaces, and the gorgeous South African people.
Having grown up in the Eastern Cape running around barefoot and playing outside in the bush whilst her father worked on site in Cradock Sharon developed a great affinity for the African bush and mountains – and use any excuse to go back there!
Sharon is now based in Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape, South Africa, a coastal city that she fell in love with more than 30 years ago.
Sharon has completed 4 running expeditions to date, and she’s run to and through 28 big 5 game reserves to promote rhino conservation. Running is a way of life for Sharon and here happy place where she escapes to relax, breath, think and recharge.
She’s run through some of the most remote areas and some of the biggest townships in SA and have had amazing conversations with many people from all walks of life whilst on foot. She is passionate about telling these stories and dispelling the myths that SA is just a dangerous place.
Says Sharon: “I have run in places most people will never get to see. I’ve met people most will never meet and experienced things most never will. One thing is for sure, we have amazing people in SA and one stunning gorgeous country.”
She is a law graduate with a fitness training diploma, serial entrepreneur involved in various enterprises, and have more than 30 years’ experience across various industries from being a public prosecutor for the Department of Justice to the fast-paced motor vehicle manufacturing industry to small and medium enterprises.
Her heart is with the small and medium-sized enterprise owners and with truly empowering people to blossom into the best versions of themselves while creating employment opportunities and changing the world for the better.
Sharon believes in stepping way out of her comfort zone and love teaching others the benefits of discarding their comfort zone and growing and expanding as people. She connects with nature and people in her most vulnerable state – on foot, and revel in connecting with our people and listening to their stories. For Sharon there truly is only one race, the Human Race!

“Now more than ever the animals of our planet need help and on the top of that critical list are vanishing giants like white and black rhinos. Sharon Jessop is a conservationist who doesn’t just talk about the issues she takes physical action. Run Wild for Rhinos is an excellent show of her determination to bring awareness for the support these animals need and I hope her ambition encourages others to not only donate but also to take action in the fight against illegal poaching. If we don’t save the horns now in less than a decade they will be gone!” ~ Coyote Peterson, American YouTuber, Brave Wilderness
