Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif (born 9 May 1992), known professionally as Sho Madjozi , is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, actress and poet. Madjozi incorporates the Tsonga culture through her music and public image. In 2019, Madjozi was named as one of Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 for her contribution in the music and entertainment sector.

After bagging both the Female Artist of The Year and Best Traditional Album awards at the 27th annual Samas, the star has taken to social media to express her gratitude for the support.
Sho Madjozi’s signature style draws from the Tsonga culture and reflects her pride in her heritage. A crucial part of her iconic look is the xibelani skirt, which is worn by Tsonga women during traditional celebrations. She has also incorporated a mix of bright colours in her look that are inspired by Tsonga traditional garments, while her home language, Xitsonga, can be picked up in her catchy verses.
